Welcome!
As a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with over thirty years of experience, I have helped thousands of clients address challenges including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance abuse, anxiety, depression, and demanding life transitions. I have worked in high-pressure environments including the Fire Department of New York (FDNY), the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), and the VA hospital and in quieter moments as a visiting home nurse. To better serve my clients and my profession, I have furthered my education to become a Licensed Nurse Practitioner and have been recognized as an expert in PTSD and mental health care for emergency workers. My decades of experience have shown me how transformation is possible with professional expertise and compassionate care.

Areas of Practice
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that’s triggered by a terrifying event, either experiencing it or witnessing it. I am an expert in treating PTSD in a variety of patients including veterans, emergency workers, and survivors.
Couples therapy
Family life can be as challenging as it is rewarding. Therapy can be useful in helping couples and families break out of old patterns to improve communication, re-establish trust, move beyond past traumas, and build a shared vision for the future together.
Substance Abuse
Substance abuse refers to the habitual use of a mind altering substance, whether it’s alcohol or drugs. If you would like to change your relationship with drugs and alcohol, counseling might be for you.
Anxiety
Anxiety is the most common mental heal challenge facing people today. It is long-term stress that can affect every part of your body and how you function in the world. Managing your anxiety can help you feel clearer and more focused in your everyday life.
Grief
The loss of a loved one can be a defining event in one’s life. Everyone experiences and expresses grief in personally unique ways that are shaped by background and culture. I am available to help you unravel how grief might be affecting you.
Depression
Depression is a serious, but common, illness - affecting about one in every ten adults. It is the most common cause of disability in the United States. If depression is interfering with your ability to enjoy your life, you might consider therapy.
